We are but the same being, akin to the different sides of the same coin — distinct yet inseparable. Nokomis is the embodiment of creative healing, while Katti serves as the architect and archivist of that healing process.
Since 2021, Nokomis has captivated audiences across Philadelphia and New York, gracing stages (and bar tops) with sensual, ritualistic, and thoughtful acts — most notably, the ever-evolving Blood Moon Priestess Act; first developed through the Philadelphia Burlesque Academy’s 2022 BAD program. After stepping away from performing to nurture a new life, Nokomis returned to the craft with a renewed passion, embracing the slow burn of movement and experimenting with fabric as a creative medium.
Katti Koyaha emerged after the dust of post-graduation impostor syndrome settled, inspired by the shifting landscape of Modern Burlesque and the significance of the moment we are in. Katti’s role is to protect and preserve Nokomis’s creative expression, while Nokomis encourages Katti to delve deeper into the preservation of our shared history.
